  1. Melbourne Fender Guitar Show

Pleased to say i went and watched the Fender Guitar Show at the comics lounge in North Melbourne last night is was a bit of a hoot, plenty of great guitars on display and plenty of guitar talk about amps and stuff which i wil not go into here because some of it went over my head and some is just not worth repeating other to say it was interesting to hear about the features of what each amp can do. I never really considered that you could use a smaller amplifier as a 'head' instead of buying a dedicated ...
  2. Almost Famous ....... A Quick Review

Just a little heads up on a dvd i watched over the weekend, Almost famous is a story about a kid who gets to go on tour and write for Rolling Stone back in the early 1970's which was a real hey day for this magazine that was popular world wide. So as you can imagine this is a fantastic opportunity for a 15 year old kid who had basically been submitting some music articles to a smaller magazine title Creeme. After a while he is accepted to do some writing for the smaller mag and then his articles ...
  3. My First Youtube

Hey friends i have been wanting to buy a video camera for a while but something else always comes up instead however this month i said 'forget the credit card payments' and i decided to get a cheapy which was still an ok brand (canon) So after what was an avalanche of information and many hours weeding through what was worth knowing i went off to the camera store (teds camera store) and hunted down my chosen video camcorder. Unfortunately i was only half the budget for what would be a real good ...

  4. Blues Band Backing Up

Many people who mess around with guitar are quite often just doing their own thing at home and that is great fun but sometimes you want just a bit extra ....... someone to play along with. So what do you do if you're not quite ready to jam with other players? Well one solution is to buy a backing track to the music of your choice then simply play whenever you feel like jaming!

The other night i went to watch a band who someone had recommended to me, then one song into the gig the rhythm guitarist's amp stops working and he is left standing there dumbfounded and lost for what to do? I ran over and jiggled the power lead in the hope it would come good but alas it was no go and although the big Peavey amp had a light on at the on/off control it was not going to start up again and it was not looking good for my only night out to see ...
